On the western side of the island, there are huge rocky drop-offs whereas long coral reefs are located on the East side. The island is the home to diverse species of fishes. Underwater visibility is a special feature of maximum beaches in Thailand. Enjoy their activity. There are a lot of colourful fishes along the beach like clownfish (Nemo) or lionfish. If one is lucky enough can spot bigger species of fishes like manta or whale shark. Though the corals are not wonderful like earlier, yet they look nice. Fish are there to enjoy snorkeling and diving. A turtle breeding facility is run on Koh Huyong in the Royal Thai Marines. Access to this part of the island is restricted. From December to April is the high season in the Similans. During this time, the monsoon stays far away from this place.
