Hathni Kund

The Hathni Kund is a solid flood situated on the Yamuna River in Yamuna Nagar region of Haryana state, India. It was built between October 1996 and June 1999 with the end goal of water system. It supplanted the Tajewala Barrage 3 km 2 mi downstream which was built in 1873 and is presently out of administration. The blast occupies water into the Western and Eastern Yamuna Canals.

The little repository made by the blast likewise fills in as a wetland for 31 types of waterbird. Plans to supplant the Tajewala Barrage had been underway since the mid 1970s yet an understanding between the legislatures of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh which share the water it redirects was not made until July 1994.
